Celebrating the One Light that Shines Through All
August 27, 2023
Hello friends,
This is my first blog in a while - a newsletter to friends and patrons. Some of you may remember me from Jaswant Khalsa Studio Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. For others, we met at Light of the Soul Gallery in Truth or Consequences, NM. Now, as one who shies from social media, a monthly newsletter seems like a more comfortable vehicle for sharing. So many stages on the creative journey…
During the gallery years, I relished showing and selling my work and meeting wonderful collectors and visitors. I am grateful for that dream-come-true but, still, change comes knocking. In 2020, I decided to work from my home studio and sold the gallery building.
Satwant and I moved our home an hour south to Las Cruces, NM. We have a quiet, spacious place that we really enjoy. Our days are mostly slow with plentiful time for creating; even for posting a newsletter. Art remains a regular part of my day and I continue to enjoy sharing.
If you own one of my paintings, I hope you’re enjoying it and that this update reminds you of my appreciation. Whether collector, friend, supporter, or all of those, I hope these short newsletters will feel like stopping by for a studio visit. I’d love to read your thoughts as well.
Meanwhile, you can see more work on my website. If a piece is calling you, email jaswant@jaswantkhalsa.com. I am happy to answer questions and send options for prices, shipping, and payment. To have “A Studio Visit” delivered straight to your inbox, subscribe below.
I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. The photo here is my home work space. Thank you for your interest. Until next month, all blessings.
Recently, I hefted a table to the front room. The window light is particularly nice there. Passing by throughout the day, my creative process stays front and center. I’m now painting with acrylic ink and pen on handmade hemp paper. I’m loving this because, of course, these are much smaller than my previous large panels. Years and years of sketches are manifesting into finished form. This is one recent piece.
Shining in His Crown
